Hello friends (and soon-to-be friends)!
Let’s (once again) get together in real life and read (alongside other human beings).
There’s no cost (it’s free!)—this is just an excuse to be around people, read a book, and if you’re feeling social, talk about books and make some new friends.
Here are the details:
When:
1:00pm-2:00pm
Sunday, June 22
Where:
Kuumba Juice & Coffee
274 E Keefe Ave (corner of E Keefe and N Richards)
Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53212
Bring:
Something to read (can be paperback book or Kindle, an audiobook plus paper to doodle on, a magazine—whatever you like)
Earplugs or headphones if you find coffeeshop hubbub and/or background music distracting (they make good playlists, but sometimes the music is a little loud)
What to Expect:
Show up a little early if you want to socialize (I’ll be there about 15 minutes beforehand).
Grab a seat and a drink and/or food. Say hi to your fellow readers and/or get cozy in your own bubble.
We’ll read quietly for an hour, from 1:00pm-2:00pm.
Hang out as long as you want after that: I’ll probably ask about what you’re reading if you’re keen to chat a bit :)
Reminders:
Subscribe (free) to receive email reminders about this and future events—but this is just for convenience! You do not have to subscribe or RSVP to attend, just show up :)
Cost:
Free!
Though please buy a drink or some food to support the business. You can see photos of their menu on their Facebook page: they have a lot of delicious stuff, and their coffee is just a few bucks, if you’re on a budget.
Parking/Transportation:
Very walkable area, there’s abundant street parking (I usually park just north of Keefe on Richards), and the Holton & Keefe bus stop (15 bus) is just two blocks away.
Let me know if you have any questions, and I hope to see you there!
