Silent Reading Meetup (1/12/25)

Happy new year!

Let’s (once again) get together in real life and read (alongside other human beings).

There’s no cost (it’s free!)—this is just an excuse to be around people, read a book, and if you’re feeling social, talk about said book and make some new friends.

Here are the details:

Bring:

• A book to read (can be paperback or Kindle, an audiobook plus paper to doodle on, a magazine—whatever you like)

• Earplugs or headphones if you find coffeeshop hubbub and/or background music distracting

What to Expect:

Show up a little early if you want to socialize (I’ll be there about 15 minutes beforehand).

Grab a seat and a drink. Say hi to your fellow readers and/or get cozy in your own bubble.

We’ll read quietly for an hour beginning at 1pm.

Hang out as long as you want after that: I’ll probably ask about what you’re reading if you’re keen to chat a bit :)

Cost:

Free!

Though please buy a drink or some food to support the business. You can see photos of their menu on their Facebook page: they have a lot of delicious stuff, and their coffee is just a few bucks, if you’re on a budget.

Parking/Transportation:

Very walkable area, there’s abundant street parking (I usually park just north of Keefe on Richards), and the Holton & Keefe bus stop (15 bus) is just two blocks away.
